Text appear effect

Hi people I am an 'intermidiate' user of after effects. Can anyone plz guide me how to create the effect (the words appearing effect) from the below given video link?
The text itself is revealed by a animated mask with a feathered edge. The animated organic shapes on top can be created by animating either Shape Layers or with a technique similar to the one in this tutorial: http://layersmagazine.com/animated-swirls-in-adobe-after-effects.html
It's basically the same technique- you need to create the shapes by manipulating the stroke in Illustrator. Once you get a few shapes down you can animate them and pre-render with alpha. You can then change the color, size and timing, comp several shapes on top of each other and create the animation that reveals the text.

Actually it looks to me like a Trapcode 3D Stroke animation with the stroke settings not the normal "swash", and possibly the thickness setting animated.

In the absence of 3D Stroke – an excellent and indispensable product – you may be able achieve something similar with CC. Mr. Mercury.
Here's as sample. You can tweak the settings to suit your needs. The Base Comp is set to 60 fps for smoother motion then Time Remapped in the final. Copies of the Base are scaled, rotated and re-positioned to suit.
