 | Shader Model Greyed Out?
by Zak Ray on Aug 25, 2012 at 6:28:10 am |
Hey all-- I installed an unsupported video card, the GTX 570, and for some reason the Shader Model seems to be greyed out in the Preferences > Previews dialog. The card is definitely working (render time is up 4000% on raytraced 3D!), I'm just wondering why it doesn't show up, or if this has the potential to cause problems (or just isn't taking full advantage of the card).
Thanks much!

Are you talking about After effects? if so...I'm not following you, not only is my GTX 570 supported and working, nor is there a shader model option in my preferences ->previews.

The Shader Model is visible in the "GPU Information" dialog in Previews.
Are you on a Windows machine by any chance? The GTX isn't officially supported on the Mac, sorry for not clarifying.
