Hi,

Found this tablet. Mixed reviews. Is there anything I need to be aware of when looking at different tablets for AE?

I prefer tablets that have a few buttons on them. You can map certain functions to those buttons and that can be handy.

Otherwise I'm just a big fan of tablets, great for roto work and it's just a lot less stress on the wrist if you have to do this all day long. I use my mine for for everything, AE, Avid, Photoshop.... Strangely we have 4 edit bays at work and 4 different tablets(just bought them at different times. This is the one I like best one, for now, until the next new one comes out.

This pleases me as it's not £500 as the others I looked at. To be fair, they were A3.

So, this is A4 right? I have a 27inch iMac. Do you think it'll be ok with that?

I use that one on a 25" dual monitor system(Avid). I think it's an A4, I know it's not one of the A3's.

Here's a pretty cool article for helping to decide on which tablet to get: http://gearoracle.com/guides/how-to-choose-wacom-pen-tablet/

Anyone using the Intous 5 yet?
I want to move my 4 down and wondering if that ring can access the timeline ala scrub?

The whole unit is about A4-sized; the active area on the tablet is closer to A6.

I am comfortable with an Intuos Medium on a 30" screen. I wouldn't go smaller.

Great. So is the Intuos Medium the one you just described? With the actual pad size being closer to A6?

Sorry, no -- I was describing the Bamboo model you linked to.

The active area on the Intuos4 Medium that I have here is about A5.

Hi,

OK great. So is yours the input pen only or the more expensive one?

Maybe it's just the thought of RSI lately, but my wrist is starting to ache and feel uncomfortable, so I'm thinking I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a medium Walcom - see link above.

Do you think I would benefit from the touch and pen one as opposed to just the pen one?
