palm tx and podcast

I am hoping someone can help me. I have a client who wants to have podcasts on her Palm TX. Supposedly it takes QT, but after lots of trouble shooting and writing to Palm, they have informed me that the video on the Palm is limited....it takes only an MPEG 4 with ima-adpcm audio and an asf wrapper. I am new to podcasting and am lost here. I use Final Cut pro and Compressor. What is ima-adpcm audio and what is asf? I am thinking asf is advanced streaming format. Am I correct?
Any thoughts. Palm suggested I buy more software to convert files, but to be truthful, I'm not crazy about that idea.
Looks like the specs are different and it only takes a little variation to make video not play. iPod is no different, if you have audio bit rate different or the encoding is too high, it will not play.
ASF is advanced systems format, Windows media. It emulates QT via windows playback, so it looks like there is no QT support. Which is not suprising. Microsoft wants windows media everywhere, Apple wants QT only where it has a license to generate income. So my guess is that Palm and Apple have no relationship.
