Unity and Snow Leopard
by Mike Kahn on Oct 20, 2009 at 4:40:11 pm

I work in a facility in which we mostly have Avid clients. Now we have a FCP Client with 3 seats cutting XDCAM EX and Prores422 and they want to go from local storage to shared storage. We have a Unity that we can put them on and I know that Avid Unity now supports FCP.

My question is have there been any problems going to Unity within Snow Leopard and FCP 7?

We will set the clients up to use the unity through fiber channel and I believe everything will work out fine, but just have not done this before and wanted to check with the experts first.

Thanks,

Mike

my guess, is that the experts are holding back for a bit with snow leopard and FCP 7... unless they have a test facility where they don't mind breaking stuff.

:)

Good place to look - I haven't researched this yet myself so anyone who's got any experience with this or tried it out? I have one facility working with FCP 7 & leopard 10.5.8 and Unity client 5.1.3 and they're OK - although unsupported. Would love to know if anyone's tried it. Thanks
