Hi, I've been using my MacBook Pro to log and transfer P2 footage directly from my HVX200 to FCP on location. I need to upgrade my computer but the new MacBook Pros seem to only come with a thunderbolt port. There seems to be a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt cable in the works but anyone have any ideas on connecting the firewire 400 miniport on the camera to Thunderbolt?

You are better off investing in the PCD2 ($325). It connects via USB. USB2 and USB are backwards compatible. If you're not selling your old computer, use that.
