Uninstalling PC card slot driver

I accidentally installed driver software P2PCCard Install.pkg for PowerBook,
but I'm having a G5 PowerMac. Just stupid,
saw "When Using Macintosh" title but haven't read the subtitle in my Install Manual.
Just bought a HPX 172 (Australian model) and I was wondering should I uninstall this,
can I have any problems later.
Secondly, there is nothing to be installed for other Mac machines except this
mentioned for Powerbook?
Am I missing something? I was reading this forum and others and I can see people are using different drivers.
To even further complicate thing, I don't have a P2 card. Bought the camera today, drove 2 hrs
came back home to find no P2 card in the box! Arrrrgh! Rang the supplier - forgot to gave me the card as it doesn't come in the box, it's supplied separately. (which is true, there is no P2 card listed in the manual on the accessories page). The card is getting delivered tomorrow.
It was one of those days, already had 3 things lined up :)
Please can you try to switch the light here for me about those drivers.
Thanks
Mio

Thanks Jeremy,
I managed to import the footage without any driver (by connecting the camera to my G5 via firewire).
Just File > Import > Panasonic P2, which is actually confirmed on their web site,
see at the bottom of this link;
Only thing is; I can only import 1080i/50. Unable to import 720p/25p or 720p/50p which is sort of
logical as I don't have those formats available in my Easy Setup or in my Sequence Settings in my
FCP 5.0.4.
Is that something I'm going to get by upgrading my FCP to 5.1.2 (I've got the discs) or the problem is somewhere else. I'm sort of surprised to see Sequence Settings for 720p/60 in my FCP as I am in PAL land. Why the other two 720p/25 and 720p/50 are not available.

It is still not a bad idea to install the driver, just in case you don't have a camera around to connect the P2 card.

You version of FCP is too old. 720p50 DVCPro HD didn't come until FCP 6.0.2. You might be able to get away with 720p25 in FCP 5.1.2. I'd skip the FCP 5.1.2 upgrade and go straight for FCS2.

I had a test of burning a DVD-R of 2 minute 1080i/50 footage,
and it took 30 min in Compressor to encode.
90 % of my work is output to DVD.
I know, I'd be working in 720 mostly (as I can read, most people are going that route),
what would halve that time, but still...
> Congrats on the new 170 by the way, very sweet little camera.<
Thanks, still finding my way around it, here "down under" we don't get
that Barry Green's book included... Mostly exposure in low - light indoors situation.
Can't get the manual exposure better that in auto, I mean without applying Gain.
And with little bit of dull lighting, nothing extremely dark, and Manual White Balance gives a NO Go
message.

Yes, an intel machine would speed this process up, for now you must be patient.

Have you tried adjusting shutter speed? A little can go a long way. Also, you can try different gamma settings so that not so much of your whites are getting curved.
