HD Frame Format - 1280 x 720 or 960 x 720
by Steve Langmanis on Apr 5, 2009 at 2:25:41 pm

Does anyone know why when I shoot on the Panasonic HPX500 at 720p it shoots a frame with the size of 960 x 720? I was under the impression HD is 1280 x 720...?

Many thanks for any heads up on this one.

John

It is an anamporphic format....90% of HD cameras are. FCP and Avid and Premiere will stretch the signal back out properly.
