We shot with a camera Panasonic HVX200 DVCPRO HD, called P2, Japanese model normally used to shot in 29.97. The camera was set to be DVCPRO HD 1080p24, which was meant to get full 24 frames progressive. In that goal, the camera, which is regulated at a speed of 29.97, generating a pull down standard 2:3:2:3 (with the 4th and 5th images interlaced). Normally, it is possible to remove the pull down with Final Cut or Cinema Tools, unfortunately it does not work. Our mistake was not to turn 1080pA24, ie with an advanced pull down, which is managed by Final Cut.
We have to do special effects on a short-film. Does somebody know how to get 24 full progressive images ? The only way seems to be to export images in 29.97 and to regulate them in 23.98 in after effects. Is there any other solution so we can make special effects with it ?
Thanks!!!
