I have a shoot coming up where I'll be shooting some b-cam interviews with the hvx200. Today I was asked by their main cameraman to capture these clips in 720p/60p mode. However, ever since I acquired the hvx, I've been shooting mostly in 720p/24pN modes (stuff looks great!). So I wondered why he would have chosen the 720p/60p mode. I know he uses a Panasonic camera, so perhaps he's trying to match his Varicam footage @ 59.94?
Perhaps he is doing a News story, they typically shoot in 60P. Or the rest of his footage is 60P. The deal with the Varicam footage is that if it is 24P over 60P your HVX should be set the same way or the footage will not match or look the same if yours is set to 720P/60. I would ask him why and just make sure that you have the right setting, so that you match his other footage. Is it 720P/60 or is it 720P/24P(which is over 60.
