59.94 fcp preset wont play footage, but 29.97 will....why?

	59.94 fcp preset wont play footage, but 29.97 will....why? by Bob Flood on Jul 26, 2006 at 2:18:03 pm hi all shot a job on the p2 camcorder at 720p. I am using FCP 5.1 on a PPC g5, and when i drop the footage on a 720p 59.94 sequence it wont play, BUT if i change the sequence timebase to 29.97, the stuff plays great i am confused... is the footage (for arguments sake lets use round numbers) 30 single frames per second (no fields, but every 1/30th of a second is a complete frame) or is it 60 fps (no fields but every 1/60 of s second is a full frame) any help would be great bee eph "I like video because its so fast!"
