Sample DVD Pulse
by Nick Kubik on Feb 15, 2008 at 7:07:56 pm

Hello,

I am an adjunct instructor at a local college in my community and a colleague of mine asked a question that I use to have the answer to because I've run into the problem before, but it's been several years since I've had to deal with it and I don't remember the solution.

The Problem: He had edited a photo slide show using iMovie. When it played back there would be a "Pulse" before and after each transition where the image became very pixelated.

Solutions Tried: Since I don't have access to editing gear right now, I had an old assistant try looking at it using Premier Pro... No change. Tried exporting it as a different format... No change.

I would appreciate any feedback on this issue. We don't have access to editing equipment yet, since our school just approved a video program and nothing has been purchased, so we're limited to the most basic editing software. The aspect ration is 640 X 480 and the photo's have been tried at both 300 dpi and 72 dpi.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

You could try this question in the Final Cut Basics forum here at the COW and I am sure that someone will have an answer for you.

While this is an iMovie question, the forum has many users there plus authors who have written on the subject of iMovie.

Best regards,
