Hello,
I'd like to know what to look for while I'm shopping for an A3 flatbed scanner, to help get my images scanned as fast as possible.
My question is how much of these factors do I need to consider and in what order of preference?:
1. CPU Processor speed of my Laptop
2. Connection (USB 2.0/Firewire)
3. Physical Mechanics of the scanner "lightbeam rail/wheels"
4. Scanning Software/Driver
My goal is to be able to scan about 40 6X4 inch prints on a G4 Powerbook in less than 15 mins.
The images don't need to be any larger than 200dpi. However, I'd like to scan as many prints as I can at once, as the speed of scanning these images is crucial. I also need to select each image individually while previewing the scan and allocating different resolution sizes as in ScanWizard from Microtek
I'm running OS 10.4 on a G4 Powerbook. Any help would be much appreciated.
Mac OS 10.4.9
PowerBook G4 1.67GHz 17"
FCStudio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark
I think the one feature that you will need is an aquisition plug-in or software that will keep you in the program after you make your scan.
I have an Epson 700. I haven't been able to figure it out a way around it, but I have to relaunch the twain after each scan. I spend most of my time watching that initialize.
My other big surprise with the scanner was to learn that its TWAIN plugin will not work with an intel-based Mac with CS3.
