Does anyone have any opinions on this camera? I have been checking it out, but I am getting mixed reviews from camera shops. One big shop locally told me it is their hottest camera, and that he would pick it over a Nikon D40X, and another one told me that he would pick the Nikon hands down. It seems to have great reviews. Was camera of the year in Popular Photograhy Dec 06 issue.

Did you check DPreview? they should have a full review and they are usually spot on. Myself, I'm a Nikon guy. excellent build quaity, just about any Nikkor lens produced will work, their cheap lenses are much better than everyone elses too. The Sony on the other hand is a very new product them and I'm sure has lots of bug to be worked out. They are also a Minolta product. While Minolta made fine film cameras in the past, they've lagged big time in the digital age. The Pentax K100D and K10D both look great and the lens options are great. They also have built-in shake reduction. So I'd say go to DPreview.com and read the reviews (they are long and in-depth). Also, be very wary of a sales person's opinions, chances are that thyey will be skewed by their comission.
