Nikon AF speed?
by Amish Ed on Sep 7, 2006 at 2:29:35 pm

I was wondering if anyone knew what is responsible for AF speed with Nikon DSLR's. I have a D70 and at the end of the month I'll be upgrading to a D80. I'm hoping to get faster AF, hoping I pick up some speed. I've heard with Nikon that AF speed is determined by the body, but Canon it's the lens. Does this sound right?

I was messing with an F6 last year and AF was insanly fast, I just could not beleve the speed, SHOCKING!
I don't know how anyone could answer this but, how slow is your AF, I would say the F6 speed was snappy.
