Living Statues
by Clay Walker on Aug 26, 2006 at 7:25:12 pm

I finally assembled a collection of "living statues" images that I have taken in Boston, London, Spain & Italy over the last few years.

I am not sure ultimately what my fascination is with this subject matter, but it is certainly fun to photograph.

Have a look:

Having seen living statues in San Francisco, it seems that make-up is a big key. The lady w/the parasol, the business man, and the guy with the cat all seem a bit contrived. But the others, especially the roman angel, really look good. As far as the photos go, they're all great technically (as is expected from you Clay), but I think the wider shots help to show the statue aspect best. It's a good contrast of active and passive.
