horizontal spry menu bkgd image not showing

first, thanks for your help....please guide me as to how to troubleshoot the spry menu bkgd images not showing (in IE only)...in the menu except when you hover on the drop down...i did look through many threads but didn't see this...created site in CS3 but have CS4 now ( If that matters?).
