flash video doesn't play after being uploaded in dreamweaver

Hi,

First time I've done this. I've tried just about everything to get my flash video to work, however after uploading it the site it doesn't show up. I've spent two days on this, read most psots bought two dreamweaver books going nuts! LOL!

I think it has something to do with the skins but not sure.You'd think that going through 'add media' in Dreamweaver CS3 and uploading the file everything would work?

Appreciate any help.

When you place a flash video Dreamweaver creates some extra files that you must not move from folder to folder or you can break their internal links.

Also double check you have uploaded all of your files (teh FLV, the swf, the controls, javascripts, etc.)

When you upload the html page where you have placed the video doesn't Dreamweaver automatically upload all the relevant files?

I've methodically gone through Dreamweavers 'add media flash video' several times.

If not where would i find them?

When you upload a file DW can upload all direct linked files (images, css, js), but when you add a FLV Dreamweaver creates a swf file with the FLV and the controls (another swf) and some javascript attached to it. So, if you upload the HTML the linked file will be just the first swf, but the rest will be missed.

If your site is organized, you should better use the sync button instead of just uploading a single file. Dreamweaver will compare both your remote and local sites finding all the documents your are missing for upload.
