opening external links
by simon gaunt on Sep 11, 2009 at 7:27:19 am

Hi,

i am making an Intranet website for a bulletin board at work. i need to have it include external links to excel spreadsheets which is easy enough. however some of the excel spreadsheets have links in themselves that ask to update when it opens. i am the only person who will ever update these links as i made the file read only for everyone else at work. my question is is there a way to make dreamweaver to open the file without updating the links every time or is there another way that anyone knows??

thanks

Si

i think that this is something you need to so from within the spreadsheet not from within dreamweaver.

You gcan go to options and swtich off auto update in excel and ses if this stops it from trying to do it when it opens the link
