Simple Flash scripting of web buttons

The title is pretty self explanatory. I have a simple map that I have created buttons for..when the user mouses over ares of the map they are hilighted...when they click on a section it should redirect them to a certain URL but I am having no success in applying the get URL action script.

I'm using layers from a photoshop file and it wont let me apply scripts to my buttons.

Admittedly I am not a flash guy and am trying to do this on fly. Learning as I go. I can't seem to find a clear cut answer on how to apply the script.

It's got a full length conversation with lots of good stuff that certainly helped me. My buttons work great with animation now, but fail in dreamweaver. The post has working code especially the one with yahoo, ebay, and bbc.
