creating movie clip from seq images

I have 1500 sequential PNG images (image01.png, image02.png, image03.png.......). How do you create a movie clip from these? (AS 2.0) I tried importing them to the library but they just import as individual images. I typed "creating movie clip" in HELP but that described how to change an object already on the stage to a movie clip.
