editing swf files in after effects

Hi,
I have a gig that involves turning a 1min flash animation into a 30sec and 15sec TVC, I'm just wondering is there any easy ways or little tricks that i should know. The issue is that the client wants to use the flash animation for the TVC because he spent a lot of money on it. I have the working flash file and everything and going through the in and outs to see if its actually worth doing and if it is actually going to look good on HDTV. So has anyone experienced and done this before? Cheers,

Hey Laurence-
My experience has been that you can pull an swf into After Effects CS3, set in and out points, scale, puppet tool, and more. There are several limitations though:
• import the swf, but it will not have sound
• make sure if any movieclips are used that they are extended for their full length
• If there is no background, AE treats the background as alpha (transparent)
Other than that, its pretty cool.
hope this helps
Tony
