compiled clip help!

Hi
I really hope someone can help as I am desperate! I have a large Quicktime movie which I need to edit in Flash. My problem(which may be completely obvious but has me stumped) is that when I import it to Flash it appears in the library as a compiled clip, which is not editable. Please tell me what I am doing wrong! Im grateful for any help asap.Thanks
