Converting mpeg or quicktime to flash
by Original Idiot on Aug 25, 2007 at 3:37:46 pm

Hello,

I am trying to figure out what is the best way to convert teaser a trailer (52 seconds in 720p24fps format) into a high quality, low memory flash file.

I have FCP 5.1.4 and compression 2. What is the best way to export? as H.264 or MPEG, or ? And how do I convert this into a flash animation?

Answers truly appreciated!

Thanks

Your best bet is the Flash Video File (FLV) format. There are several ways to go about this. Either use the Flash Video Encoder, Premiere Pro, the Flash built-in encoder or even software like the Apex video converter.

Aside from the FLV format, Flash also supports .mov files.

Yes but how do I import it? I am having trouble importing it to the timeline for some reason.

Thanks

What happens when you import it? Normally you would just go to File > Import > Import Video...

Then select your file, choose to embed it in the timeline and then choose to embed it either as a movieclip or an embedded video.
