Contolling the main timeline from an embedded swf
by Brian Mills on Jul 20, 2007 at 12:44:01 pm

hey all,
Im loading a swf into a movieClip via moviecliploader...is there a way to have a button in the loaded swf that controls the main timeline not the embedded swf file? I cant seem to get it to navigate the main time line only the embedded swf...
thanks for any help?

In the loaded swf, you can either use _root or _parent (maybe multiple times i.e. _parent._parent.mc) to affect MovieClips containing that new swf.

Adding to that, does it not work to call items in the original clip using _level0. + name path ..?
