Team,
Check out the video presentation hosted by Jim Kelly on this site. http://advancedmethod.com/sportsinteraction/intro/ Notice how fast it loads...was this done in flash? How did they manage to make it load so fast? I have been making my quicktime movies then converting them to flash but those have been taking forever to laod or if I make them the progressive download variety now avaialble in flash 8 they'll play right away but can play choppy alot of the time. I was thinking to stop the choppinness I would just upload with some pre-loaders. Why is this movie playing so fast? I know it has something to do with the white backgrounds and the subtle graphics behind Jim Kelly...any insight???

It could just be a much faster server that they are on. My home account's server is notoriously the slowest thing on earth. Sometimes I wonder if I found where it was I would find it plugged into a 28.8 modem. They've probably just done a great job at minimizing the file size as well as having a good server with plenty of dedicated bandwidth.
I'm filling a need. Without me there would be no bad examples.

It was done in Flash, you can tell by right-clicking on it.
As far as how fast it loaded goes, it is well optimized. This can be done by using a small video size, high compression (low bitrate), non-component video scripting. Also, most of that animation was done in flash with vector graphics. The video itself is only a small portion of the flash document on the right side. I would guess the video itself is only 190x150 pixels which also speeds up the load time because not much memory is needed to buffer smaller videos.

Yes it loads quickly but there really isn't much to it. Everything is vectors and the video is pretty low quality. If you set the buffertime to 0.1 any video will play automatically.
