Pros and Cons

Pro
Flash is more prevelant on both platforms by a wide margin (flash player vs. WMP)

Con
Many macheads don't even realize that there is a windows media player for the mac. But Microsoft has already abandoned it and won't update it further.

Whether your target is windows or mac I'm seeing more and more converting over to the new flash 8 format because the quality is finally acceptable and more importantly the flash adoption rate is faster than any player (period).

I'd lean towards linking to an FLV in flash...or, just to make yourself happy, you could embed a quicktime in flash and not tell them ;-)
