import video swf into flash

I created a swf from a video.I want to import this swf into flash MX add a short flash animation to the beginning and then export as a new swf. Is there a simple way to do this?

you could try stitching - but to get the best video compression you have to use the spark pro codec and for some strange reason the spark pro codec is only available inside squeeze. AFAIK there is no way of combining highest quality compression and full flash functionality inside a video swf.

Yeah Macromedia is pushing everyone to use the FLV format so I'm sure SWF video will be even less desirable when Flash 8 comes out.
