 | Spinning camera smoothly round an object?
by Chris Wood on Mar 26, 2011 at 7:42:41 pm |
Hello, I'm going to cut straight to the chase, I need to have the camera spin round my object, and have the camera spiralling upwards as I do it. I have created the helix spline and attached the camera to it, and that sort of works, but I want a kind of helter-skelter style spline, where it spirals upwards to form a cone shape.
Is there any way to do this? I've tried using Bezier curves and I do have good knowledge of the pen tool in Photoshop, but it always comes out a bit weird. :(
Cheers.

the helix spline needs to be a cone?

well yeah, imagine the path a helter skelter slide takes, it spirals down, getting wider as it reaches the bottom. I need a spline that does this, because I want to be spinning round the bottom, and then have the camera move up to focus on the object from top-down.

You can independently adjust the start and end radiuses of the helix spline; doesn't that do what you need?
