adding logo to specific portion of materia
by matthew rivlin on Nov 2, 2009 at 2:50:29 pm

This is likely a very basic question about materials.

I have an .obj (american football helmet) and it has multiple materials, and multiple corresponding polygon selection tags.

Two of them are the side of the helmet in which I would like to place logos. I could make new selections and do it that way, but the specular and blending and such wont match.

I am looking for a very customizable way to insert this logo realistically on the helmet.

I have R11 with all of the modules as well as BodyPaint (have not used) so if anyone has a suggestion or workflow for this technique, it would be much appreciated.

Why wouldn't the specular and such match?
I would just fix the log in PS with alpha and drop it on the object. Then move it about till it looks nice.
Making selections like you have done can speed this part up.
I would not bother with BP for this type of thing. Espesially if you have not laid out the UV's already.
