Casting a shadow on a Pyrocluster cloud
by Graham Quince on Sep 28, 2009 at 11:53:44 am

Hi everyone

Hoping there's a simple solution to this problem. I have a set of Pyrocluster clouds and would like to put a plane above them to recreate the classic shot where you can see the plane and below it you can see its shadow on the clouds.

For some reason, the clouds render without shadow. I've checked all the light settings and there is no luminosity set on the particles, but still can't see a shadow. Is there anything else I can try?

You probably need to go to the pyrocluster material's Illumination tab and turn on "Use Illumination".

[redfaced] Oh pants. For some reason I thought Use Illumination was the equivalent of a regular texture's luminosity [/redfaced]

Thanks for setting me right
