Simply attaching an object to the bone of an animated character?
by Mick Middleton on Sep 8, 2009 at 5:42:52 pm

Hi guys,

I'm getting really frustrated with myself now... I'm no hot shot character animator. But I've just managed to bone a character and pose him into a sitting position. Since then I added some glasses, but I've just decided that I would like the glasses to be attached to his head so I can have him look around a little, when I animate the head bone.
Problem is now that he's already sitting and boned etc, I can't seem to get the glasses to stick (without deforming or going back to the preposed stage)...

A guy at work who uses 3Dsmax said to simply link the glasses to the head bone... but I can't work out how to do it in C4d?... any takers?
Cheers in advance

Mick

Go to the start of your animation, place the glasses in the correct position, then use a constraint tag (PSR) to constrain the glasses to the head bone with relative offset.
