Ribbon Unwrapping effect

Anyone know how i create the ribbon unwrapping effect in the attached video clip using C4D?

Clothilde is one possibility, but you'd have to cache since the collider (the box) would be animated. Either that or bones (which may be the way that example was done - it's a little hard to tell since the flash player is incapable of frame by frame).
