Net Render and Plug-ins
by Don Holland on Aug 1, 2009 at 3:26:35 pm

Where do you install the plug-ins for the net render clients? I have Net Render Client and Plug-ins folder all contained in a folder called maxon. When I go to the plugins menu in Net Render Client it says "empty". I'm on a several Macs. 2 G5's and a MacPro if that matters.

Thanks,
Don

I haven't done it with v11 but with 10.5 and 10 you run the Cinema 4d Setup on the machine with the client and JUST install the modules or plugins. It should put them in the correct location. You have to do it on each machine that you want to run a client.

Hmmmm that's weird. What version of C4D are you using? Are these the standard Things like Mograph and such, or third party plugins?

I just checked on some of my machines that just have the client installed. The directory structure should look like:

MAXON
NETrender
clientprefs
Exchange Plugins
library
manuals
modules
plugins
resource
results
scene
tex

all of my things like advanced render and Mograph are in the modules folder.

Have you run the plug-in or module installation on every machine you want to use as a client? Doe your structure look like the one I previously posted?

I have all the Plug-ins installed correctly on all machines. It looks like its the fault of one spcific plug-in. PoserFusion for Cinema 4D does not work with Net Render. I haven't received official confirmation from Poser (I've left several emails), but when I make a file without using the PoserFusion plug-in. It works.

Wow...if you get confirmation from them directly and you respond to this post and let us know for sure so it's in the archive?

Thanks!

Tim
