Moving tangent arms independently? "C4D 11 Workshop" question
by Robert McGunnigle on Jun 8, 2009 at 8:40:46 pm
Okay...this is a total newbie question. I've searched this forum, consulted the 'help' function in C4D, checked the manual, and haven't been able to figure out the answer!
I'm currently working out of the "C4D 11 Workshop" book and I'm stuck on a particular step in one of the introductory projects. Specifically, it's page 13 (creating a Maglite), where it says to press the "Shift" key while clicking on one of the tangent arms on either side of a spline point in order to independently move the arms to create a gradual curvature in the spline. I'm following the instructions to the letter, but it doesn't work for some reason. HELP!

Hi Rob,
you are using a Bezier spline and you can see the tangents of selected spline points?
Holding down the Shift key together with the left mouse button while moving a tangent should break it.

Arndt,
Thank you for the prompt response! I tried your suggestion, but with no luck!
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. Hopefully, it will clarify things a bit.

Yes, Adam made a good point. You have to use the Move tool if you want to move anything in the viewport. The screenshot shows, that you are using the Live Selection tool still.

Rob
Sorry to interupt your thread, but you may be of assistance in solving an Adobe Photoshop software problem that I have.
I get this runtime error: (with the details)
