Bend on Spline

Ok this might kind of fall into the other post but it's a little different. I want to take a tile and repeat it on a spline which I can then move the spline to bend and deform the tiles without them overlapping each other. I tried the spline rail deformer but what happens there is that the tiles shear instead of actually bending along the spline. Does anyone know another way I can do this? Thanks
