randomly coloring hats, keeping skin same color
by Bert Brown on Nov 24, 2008 at 9:07:10 pm

using mograph, how can i take a crowd of figures (clones) with hats and randomly color the hats, but keep the figure's skin color the way it's textured?

the hats and the figures are separate objects within the cloner.

Place a material with the mograph color shader on your hats and a regular material on the other object(s). Then apply a random effector with color mode turned on.

thanks for getting back to me. what seemed to be the problem was that my hat and guy object were nested in a null. once i took them out, and changed their axis and clustered them - this technique worked.
