Hey guys- I have to simulate a colored fluid being injected into a water-like fluid. This is the best reference I can find that is close to what I need to do. http://christopherhewitt.com/Projects/?Reading_Nature.mov Does anyone have any idea how to do this? I have tried using RealFlow, but I am still really new to it, so I am not very familiar with all the different things it can do.
Any insights or tutorials would be extremely helpful and appreciated.

Not sure if you found a solution, but I would highly suggest not doing this in 3D. I worked on a pontiac spot a while back and initially the concept was very similar. We were to create the look of ink being dropped into water. The problem is that you end up getting a very uniform look, and it's tough to get that stringy, billowing effect (especially tough with realflow).
I would suggest shooting this and compositing multiple shots to create the effect you want. Alternatively you could go buy riotgear from videocopilot.net. It has a few HD clips of exactly this sort of thing. They are in slow motion too.

Through my experiments, I have found the 2d video option is going to work the best. I ran some tests with some ink injected into water and it seems to be the fastest and best option for my application. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it.
