not post hair, I think. Only if the hair is polys (Generate tab in the Hair object). I suppose you could do a double render, once with poly hair to get an alpha once with real hair but since I've never tried it I don't know what the match would be like. The other possibility might be to use the atmosphere channel desaturated to generate an alpha (once again never tried it)
