I'm getting some unwanted results when using the Extrude NURBS function on an imported .eps file. (saved as Illustrator EPS 8).
The things is that when I'm using the Cel Renderer effect, with the show edges checked, (Render Settings-Effects-Cel Renderer) a lot of crazy triangles shows up. I have no idea how to work around this.
Any one of you have a solution?
Attaching an image so you see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the replay Brian,
it helped. A little bit.
With a simple vector shape it now looks good. But with the desired logo it still gets all messed up. I'm not sure if it's something in the complexity of the logo that C4D can't handle (would be strange though).
I'm attaching both the troubled C4D-render and the original vector. You can see that the left shape looks okay (also an imported EPS) but the logo get's all messed up in the front.

since the top image is the cel render black-on-black so to speak, I'm not sure if the extrude is working well. Does the logo look right without the cel rendering?
If not, the spline needs work first. If it's ok but you are wishing for more control of where the lines go you might be looking at needing to use Sketch and Toon.

The logo looks just fine without the cel rendering. And the paths/splines (does the paths becoms splines inside C4D?) looks just okay.
Basically I'm going for that lo-fi outlined look as shown. I've turned off the anti-aliasing to get the hard jagged edges.
This would be perfect if just the front could be plain.
I'm feeling a little bit noobish here, 3d isn't my main focus, but how could the Sketch and Toon module help me in this problem?

The built-in cel render effect is very old; it predates Cinema's support for ngons. ngons (polygons with more than 4 sides) are really just a display trick, as internally Cinema breaks them up into quads and tris.
Sketch & Toon is MUCH more advanced and gives you the ability to render lines in many different ways -- as well as the ability to use different settings for selection sets.

Thanks for the tip Adam!
Sketch And Toon works a lot better!
But!
When the 'edges' checkbox is checked it, once again, get's messed up. I'm wondering if it all comes down to it being the .eps that is causing the trouble.
I think I will leave it at this. But it would be interesting to know what is really causing this problem.
So if anyone have any further ideas - please, let me know.

This shows one way to do it. Make the extrude editable and use Sketch Style tags on the caps to get them to render differently. There are more ways, Sketch and Toon is quite flexible.
