Cloners and Loops
by Thomas Ernst on May 22, 2008 at 2:07:30 am

Hey there
I am trying to do the following: At the beginning of a scene, I have a set of clones running at a uniform speed along the length of a spline. At a certain point, I want the influx of clones to stop, so that the remaining clones run off the spline and are not renewed at the beginning. I started off with keyframing Loop from On to Off, but depending on the rate and the number of clones, there is sometimes a skip in the clones on the spline; also, when I have attempted to move the Off keyframe in the Timeline, I get very unexpected results (often the clones just disappear from one frame to the next). Is there another way to approach this? I tried keyframing the Start parameter from 0 to 100%, but the clones speed up and bunch up at the end in a way I'm not crazy about.
thanks
