Procedural textures on Mograph clones
by Jason Coursey on May 13, 2008 at 8:24:11 pm

Hi, Cow.

Anyone know how to put procedural textures on clones?

I know how to use the multishader to put basic colors on clones, but what if you have say, 5 clones and you want to put a custom procedural shader on each one?

Thanks in advance,

Jason

You can use procedurals in the multishader just like you would use bitmaps. But the easiest way, if you only have five objects, would be to duplicate your object five times under the cloner and give each one a unique material.

Thanks for the response, Adam.

How do you use procedurals like bitmaps with the multishader? Do the procedurals have to have a specific extension when saved?

You just load whatever you want into the multishader's channels instead of loading a bitmap. Here's an example: http://www.3danvil.com/tutorials/multishader_prcdrls.c4d

The duplicating worked too, thanks!
