hello
i'm just shifting from using 3ds max to cinema4D and have some troubles figuring out how things actually work

for example - how can i chamfer edges of a solid object?
pictures of what i mean here (made in 3dsMAX):

i just found something called "smooth shift" but that doesn't make what i want

thanks!

You are looking for Bevel which will work on polys, edges and points. In this case appears you want to bevel selected edges.
