Hi,
I know this question has been asked many times before...
But I still dont really know the answer.
I'm am an After Effects user with a 2D design background.
I am a beginner in Cinema 4D, and I agree with what I have read before, the quickstart manual sucks.
I only have the demo version right now, because I wanted to see if this is the right application for me.
Does anyone suggest any books that are good for beginners?
I found a couple on amazon:
The Cinema 4D 9/9.1 Handbook (Graphics Series) -- by Adam Watkins, Anson Call Exploring 3D Animation with Cinema 4D R9 -- by Tony Alley suggestions/comments?
I also read on this forum something about a "Duck Race" that comes with the app.
But before I go ahead and buy it, I would like to see if I can understand the program.
I'm really not a 3D person, and really don't need to know the character modeling part of it.
I mainly want to be able to design in 3D space and be able to animate my camera around 2D objects.

Check out: CINEMA 4D : The Artist's Project Sourcebook (Digital Media Academy Series)by Anne Powers. It's really fun and you'll get the gist of what C4d can do. Much more interesting than modeling an electrical plug!
