editing 4K Red files?
by Mitch Ives on May 28, 2009 at 9:25:32 pm

Is anyone editing 4K Red files in FCP? I realize that I haven't stayed in the loop on this as I used to, but as I recall we were limited to 2K in FCP for editing? Any change in this? Thanks...

Don't know if I'm up-to-the-minute, either, FWIW.

Short answer:

Yes, you're limited to 2K, even if you're editing on the proxies from footage originally shot in 4K.

Yes you can drop 4k proxy files on the timeline and edit. although Im not sure why you would want to.
