Batteries Did you ever wonder if you should keep your camera batteries fully charged or cycle them down and back up?
Did you realize that a 70 amp hour battery cannot provide 70 amps for 1 hour or 1 amp for 70 hours?
If you have a camera that pulls 36 watts and a battery that is rated at 70 amp hours, how do we calculate run times?
Why is it called a 70 ah battery? What is the Math?
Did you know that a laptop battery's biggest threat is heat that is generated while it is operating on A.C.?
What is the best thing to do for your batteries?
What is the worst thing you can do to your batteries?
Join us for an evening with Steve Mastin, Lead Technician and General Manager for Batteries Plus. Steve will answer these and many more questions regarding the one thing that we can't do without, batteries. Learn how the new batteries differ from what we were using years ago and what is on the horizon for battery technology.
Alternative Lighting Longtime AZFCPUG member Bill Davis will share his experiences with inexpensive LED and Fluorescent instruments from Cool Lights, explain the differences from working with Tungsten, and have fixtures on hand to look at and try out!
JVC Two of the hottest announcements from NAB 2009 were the GY-HM700 and the GY-HM100U camcorders from JVC. Come see these great new cameras in person!
Both camcorders feature a native Final Cut Pro workflow that has to be seen to be believed! The cameras record up to 35Mbps Full HD 1920 x 1080 (1080p24/25/30, 1080i) or 1280 x 720P (p60/50/30/25/24) native Final Cut Pro Quicktime files, which allows for immediate editing with no digitizing, conversion or transcoding.
Both cameras also can record to inexpensive Class-6 SDHC cards. Tapeless cameras with truly affordable media? It's about time!
Apple's own Joe Torelli will be on hand to demo the workflow and show off some striking brand-new footage! JVC West Coast District Sales Manager Alicia Reed will show examples of JVC's highly regarded series of professional HD monitors, and answer your questions about these exciting new cameras.
Noise Industries Raffle Courtesy of our friends at Noise Industries, we'll raffle off copies of 2 fantastic 3D Themes from SUGARfx: Folding Cards ($70 value), and Cine Fest ($120 value).
