Hey guys,

In Garage Band there's a button that automatically aligns your playing to the nearest beat (or 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc.). Is there a way to do this in Logic?

For example, when you use the keyboard to play drums, the key inputs are rarely perfectly on beat. In garage band you simply select the notes you want to align, select the nearest factor (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc) and click the 'align' button. Aside from aligning every note manually I haven't found a good way of doing this in Logic.

Hey Daniel!

Time correcting in Logic is great! You can time correct audio tracks (default blue) with flex time, but you are talking about is quantizing your MIDI data.
1) After you record, go into your piano roll window.
2) Select the notes that you want to correct (lasso certain ones, or command + A to select all) then in the top left part there is a drop down menu where you can select the quantize value (1/2, 1/8, 1/16, etc...)
3) Hit the little "Q" button to the right of that.

Hope that that helped out!

-Theo
