John,
I have just got one of these for Macprofessionals and first impression with this is it's aimed to the consumer as an all in one solution. There is alot of features to it and there is a little bit of a learning curve to this board as well.
But once you start to wrap your head around it it's fairly simple to use. Now if you go to Presonus website they have tutorials on there that avery helpful. As well as a Template for Logic with all of the inputs mapped out for you.
That was cool so I had the board hooked up via Firewire 400 to my Mabook Pro running Logic. Now given the price of this board and what it can do ie....nice EQ, Compression on every Channel,Effects...I wasnt blown away by the A/D converters on the Interface. BUt lets face it I use an Apogee and that alone cost what this board costs.
Now given that, it's perfectly acceptable in sound quality and it even comes with Capture which is there
software for recording thru there interface. I didnt use that yet but it looks pretty cool. Again I just got this board last week.
I want to hook it up as a live console and than use the interface for recording and put it thru it's paces before I make a complete judgment call. But for somebody looking for an all in one solution it's pretty cool.
