SD Connect no longer works with FCP 6.0.1 & QT 7.2.0

Dual 2.5 - G5
FCP 6.0.1
QT 7.2.0
SD connect SW 1.1.214 FW 1.14
when digitizing with Sony BetacamSP 1800 deck after 1 second just jogs around and FCP says "Locating Time Code Break"
cleaned Heads and tried different tapes.
ALSO when i put in a beta i can't control it in FCP unless i FIRST push play on the deck so FCP sees the TC going - then i can control it
IT WAS NOT LIKE THIS BEFORE THE LATEST UPDATE!!!
JUST FREAKING IN CHICAGO
