Re: downconvert HDV to SD- letterbox by John Schell on Jul 18, 2007 at 2:57:14 pm
If you need deck control/timecode, the HD-Connect MI (RS-422 to 1394 deck control). If you do not need deck control/timecode, the nanoConnect. Both products convert the video/audio from HDMI to HD-SDI/SD-SDI. On the M25 deck, you can select the video output format (625i, 720p, 1080i) along with the down-scale style (letterbox, squeeze, edge crop).
Let me know if you have further questions.

I actually need to get a composite or component signal letterboxed out. This for our offline edit and I've read that the M25u can't downconvert to letterbox.
Can you guys still help?
Oh...and thanks for always being so quick to respond to postings on this board.

Our M25 deck has the option to downconvert to letterbox via component (I think the setting applies to composite as well). Our products would only help if you needed RS-422 deck control of the M25 as well (via RS-422 to 1394 conversion).
